Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Regis, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Regis (Mass.) in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-18 in non-conference action on Tuesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Will Perry (San Mateo, Calif.) and Spencer Capps (Lake Bluff, Ill.) tied for the team-high in kills with seven apiece. Perry hit .667 on nine swings, while Capps posted an even .500 hitting percentage to go along with one assist and a team-high (tied) five digs.

The Gulls also saw Mason Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) compile six kills, one assist, a match-high five service aces, four digs, and three blocks (one solo, two assisted).

Meanwhile, Gabe DeBenedetto (Rockford, Ill.) ran the majority of the offense (two sets) behind 21 assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 20-1 all-time against Regis.
  • Perry went a team-best 12-for-12 on serve-receive.
  • He also saw six of his receptions lead to kills (tied match-high).
  • Tonight's match saw 10 ties (4-6-0) and three lead changes (1-2-0).

Endicott (3-6) hosts No. 7 nationally ranked St. John Fisher on Thursday, March 9 at 7 PM. Regis (6-9) takes on Rivier (11 AM) and Wentworth (1 PM) this Saturday in Nashua, New Hampshire.
