BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's tennis freshman Antonio Marsallo (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
Last week (April 3-9) for the Gulls, Marsallo played in two of Endicott's three matches posting two victories in both contests.
First, in a CCC bout with Western New England, Marsallo played at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles. He won his doubles match 8-7 (7-3) before collecting a 6-2, 6-1 straight-set victory in singles.
Marsallo moved to the No. 2 doubles position for his team's match against Emerson and earned an 8-0 sweep. He then played at No. 4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1.
This is Marsallo's first career weekly award.
