BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott Athletic Department announced today the hiring of Jeremy Howard as the next head coach for the Gulls men's and women's tennis programs.

Howard, a former NCAA DI tennis player at the University of Richmond, comes to Endicott after coaching the Stowe (Vt.) High School boys tennis team since the spring of 2011.  He oversaw his state championship contending tennis squad through scheduling matches, coordinating and running practices, and coaching the team in approximately 20 head-to-head matches.

Howard also served as the Director of Marketing for the Grand Slam Tennis Tours, Inc. located in Stowe, Vermont since 2005.  He implemented marketing plans, expanded sales and business development, managed social media efforts, edited the company website, and coordinated all marketing and advertising campaigns during his seven-year stint at GSTT.

While earning his Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, degree in Political Science from the University of Richmond, Howard helped the Spiders to the 2001 Atlantic-10 Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.  He went on to get his Master of Education in Educational Leadership & Student Administration from the University of Vermont in December of 2010 and completed an internship in the UVM athletic department.

Howard has also coached a variety of camps in his career including the Windridge Tennis Camp in Jefferson, Vermont where he was the head tennis counselor and assistant tennis director.  He also worked at the Moses Brown RISE Tennis Camp as an assistant director in the summer of 2010 and the Children's Sports Camp, named one of the top 10 tennis camps in the United States by Tennis Magazine.

Howard takes over a Gulls women's tennis program fresh off a CCC Championship and NCAA Appearance in the 2011-12 season.   The men's program went 10-12 overall, 5-3 in-conference this past spring and reached the CCC Semifinals.
