Donar Makes Crucial Saves to Give Gulls the Tie

Paxton, MA- In a key conference match Saturday afternoon, Anna Maria played the Gulls of Endicott to a scoreless tie.

The first half was played even with both teams taking only 4 shots on goal. Endicott applied greater pressure in the second half and in the first overtime period. The Gulls, however, who have been plagued this season with problems finishing, could not find the back of the net, managing only 3 more shots on net than AMC during this time.

Both keepers were the difference in this game. Endicott Senior Mitch Donar and AMC's Todd Ames came up with game saving stops. Ames stopping a breakaway in the 2nd overtime, and Donar stopping a point blank header in the 1st half.

With the tie, AMC's record is now 5-7-2 (4-3-1 CCC) and Endicott's is 6-5-1 (4-2-1 CCC).

The Gulls are home Wednesday, under the lights (7pm start) versus local rival Gordon. Gordon is currently 3rd in the CCC with a 4-0-2 record (7-3-3 overall).
