The EC men's soccer team takes Colby Sawyer 2-0

Beverly, MA- The men's soccer team improved their record to 4-2 overall with a big win over CCC rival Colby Sawyer yesterday. The Gulls scored in both halves and allowed only 2 shots on goal to seal their win on the new Multi-Purpose Stadium.

The first goal came just 10 minutes into play as sophomore midfielder Daniel Duvernoy found junior midfielder Kyle Austin who floated it over Charger keeper Adam Perron's head into the back of the net.

In second half play, with 57 minutes on the clock, junior midfielder Pete Mendel drove into the box beating a number of Charger defenders and found a wide open senior forward Josh Pierson who completed the play for his second goal of the season.

The Gulls dominated the game allowing no shots on net in the first half. Freshman Chris Croteau led the defense at sweeper along with Coaches' Player of the Game Yonathan Bendesky at stopper, and Steven Gloria and Ryan Vigilant on the outside.

Senior Goalkeeper Mitch Donar recorded his 4th shut out in 6 games.

The Gulls next game is at Roger Williams this Saturday at 12:00.
