Defensive Player of the Year Ozycz and First Teamer Bell headline ECAC awards

2013 ECAC Division III New England All-Star Team

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released their annual Division III New England All-Stars list and Gulls graduate student and face-off specialist Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) and freshman goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) were both recognized as First Team honorees.  Ozycz added ECAC Defensive Player of the Year to his long list of postseason accolades this spring.

Already highly decorated with United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America First Team and Face-Off Specialist of the Year honors as well as Scholar All-America status, Ozycz earned his first postseason award from the ECAC in his final season in the Blue and Green.  Ozycz's outstanding efforts on the draw (.761 face-off win percentage) and ability to create possession opportunities for the Gulls offense (13.8 ground balls per game) were integral in Endicott's 13-6 overall record and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship appearance in 2013.

Bell's stellar rookie campaign resulted in CCC Rookie of the Year and First Team, New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England, and USILA All-America Honorable Mention honors.  Bell posted a 12-5 record between the pipes with a 9.17 goals against average, a .549 save percentage, and 186 saves.

Ozycz, Bell, and two student-athletes from Western New England represented four of the 13 spots on the ECAC First Team from the CCC.  Three of those four players will return for the 2014 season.
