Springfield, Mass. - After winning their sixth conference championship in program history and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the Endicott men's lacrosse team was selected to repeat as The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) champions as voted on by the league's head coaches. The preseason poll was announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.
Endicott (14-8, 9-1 TCCC in 2010) received six first place votes and earned a total of 115 points, edging second place finisher Western New England College by one vote. The Golden Bears received four first place votes.
In 2010, the Blue and Green won 16-4 over University of New England in the quarterfinals and 10-6 over Roger Williams in the semifinals before posting an 11-6 victory over New England College in the championship game. Endicott then edged Montclair State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament 8-6, marking the second time the Gulls have advanced into the next round of play.
Their 2010 campaign ended in the second round, however, as Endicott fell to eventually NCAA Champions Tufts University 21-8.
Rounding out the top five of the TCCC Preseason Poll are Roger Williams (87), New England College (81), and Gordon (79). Nichols was the only other institution to receive a first place vote with one.
