CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: Gulls Set To Host Two-Day Tournament On April 25-26

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's golf team will serve as hosts for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Sunday, April 25, and Monday, April 26 at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club. Here's a preview of the two-day, 36-hole event.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott enters the CCC Tournament as the defending league champions after securing its seventh conference title in program history on April 28, 2019.
  • Frank Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.) and Nicholas Grimbilas (Strafford, N.H.) have both earned wins this season in the Roger Williams (79, +8, 4/6/21) and Endicott Invitationals (70, E, 4/13/21), respectively.
  • This year all eight CCC men's golf programs — Endicott, Gordon, Nichols, Roger Williams, Suffolk, University of New England (UNE), Wentworth, and Western New England — will compete for the conference title since a championship qualifier was not held this season.
  • Endicott, Nichols, Western New England, and UNE have all won invitationals this season.
  • Based on available data from 2003-04 to the present, Gordon, Roger Williams, Suffolk (new to the league this season), UNE, and Wentworth will all look to capture their first-ever CCC Championship this week.

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of the event will earn the title of 2021 CCC Men's Golf Champion and the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. The NCAA Championship is scheduled to take place on May 11-14 at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
