CCC SEMIFINALS: Crosstown Rivals Clash In Playoffs On Thursday (7 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. — The third-seeded Endicott men's basketball program (18-8) will travel to No. 2 seed Gordon (18-8) this Thursday at 7 PM for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament Semifinal Round matchup at the Bennett Center.

THE MATCHUP/SERIES HISTORY: Endicott is 23-19 in the all-time series against Gordon. Meanwhile, this season, the Fighting Scots defeated Endicott twice - by scores of 105-98 (OT) and 85-77 (OT). 

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Endicott defeated No. 6 Wentworth, 83-74, in the CCC Tournament Quarterfinals (RECAP | BOX SCORE). Gordon turned away No. 7 Salve Regina, 99-85, in the quarterfinals as well (RECAP | BOX SCORE).

SCOUTING ENDICOTT: The Gulls are 9-3 on the road this season and 6-4 overall in their last 10 contests.

As a team, Endicott ranks among the CCC's best in the following categories: points per game (4th, 83.0), field goal percentage (5th, 44.4), three-point field goals made (2nd, 328), three-point field goal percentage (4th, 39.0), free throws made (t-6th, 331), free throw percentage (5th, 72.0), rebounds per game (5th, 38.3), assists per game (4th, 17.2), steals per game (6th, 6.9), blocks per game (5th, 2.7), and fewest points allowed per game (4th, 76.0).

Individually, Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) is third in the CCC in points with 594 (No. 1 PPG, 23.8), while Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) ranks No. 23 with 287 (No. 24 PPG, 11.0). Brown also ranks No. 13 in the country in points per game (23.8) and No. 9 in three-point field goals made per game (3.88).

SCOUTING GORDON: The Fighting Scots are 10-2 at home this season and 8-2 in the last 10 contests. Gordon's only losses at home have come against Becker (79-75, 12/09/17) and Nichols (97-74, 1/27/18).

Among all CCC teams, Gordon ranks in a variety of spots in the following categories: points per game (3rd, 86.8), field goal percentage (2nd, 47.5), three-point field goals made (4th, 248), three-point field goal percentage (1st, 40.8), free throws made (2nd, 384), free throw percentage (3rd, 73.3), rebounds per game (2nd, 42.5), assists per game (1st, 19.0), steals per game (5th, 7.1), blocks per game (1st, 5.3), and fewest points allowed per game (8th, 81.0).

Individually, Eric Demers (Acushnet, Mass.) leads the CCC in total points with 617 (No. 2 PPG, 23.7), while Garrisson Duvivier (Brockton, Mass.) ranks No. 8 in total points with 443 (No. 8 PPG, 17.0) and No. 1 in total rebounds with 342 (only student-athlete with 300-plus boards | No. 1 RBG, 13.2). Nationally, Demers is No. 14 in the country in points per game and Duvivier is No. 4 in rebounds per game.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

The winner between Endicott and Gordon will advance to the CCC Championship and will play either No. 1 Nichols or No. 4 Roger Williams on Saturday, February 24 at a time and place to be determined later.
