Field Hockey Downs WNE, 3-0, on Senior Day

Beverly, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team, defeated Western New England, 3-0, to finish the season undefeated in conference play, on Saturday, November 2 at North Field. 

Prior to today's contest, Seniors Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.), Emily Graham (Westford, Mass.), and Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) were all honored for their contributions towards the field hockey program and the Endicott community in a senior day ceremony.

As for the game, the Gulls opened the scoring in the first quarter through Addi Williams (Pittsfield, Maine) who secured her 11th goal of the season at 11:16 to give Endicott a 1-0 lead. 

After a scoreless second quarter, Champigny gave the Gulls a 2-0 lead with her eighth goal of the season, at 30:47 in the third quarter. 

In the fourth frame, McCarthy added another to the Endicott lead making it 3-0 with her team-leading 18th goal of the season at 53:37. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Endicott goaltender Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) made seven saves to move to 16-4 on the season. 
  • Today was Farrin's sixth shutout of the season. 
  • Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) notched an assist on the third Endicott goal.
  • The Gulls have finished undefeated in conference two seasons in a row. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (16-4, 12-0 CCC) and Western New England (7-11, 3-9 CCC) will await the conference announcement for seedings and schedule for the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament.
