Kristen McCarthy Named First Point USA/NFHCA Division III New England East Regional Player of the Year

NFHCA REGIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR RELEASE | ENDICOTT FIELD HOCKEY ALL-REGION HISTORY

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athlete Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) was named the First Point USA/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III New England East Regional Player of the Year, the organization announced earlier today.

McCarthy becomes the first student-athlete in program history and first female student-athlete in department history to receive Regional Player of the Year honors.

2019 was a historic year for the senior forward. Not only did she become the first student-athlete in program history to be named Regional Player of the Year, but she was also the first student-athlete in program history to win back-to-back Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year accolades. McCarthy also became the fastest in program history to secure 100 career points, needing only 35 games to reach to the mark. McCarthy climbed the Endicott field hockey record books in 2019 as she now sits first all-time in assists (28), second all-time in points (132) and third all-time in goals scored (52), all of which she did in only 47 games. During the 2019 season, McCarthy led Endicott in all offensive scoring categories with 23 goals, 11 assists, and 57 points.
