Former Endicott Football Coach Alex Valles Named An NFL Scout With The Arizona Cardinals

BEVERLY, Mass. – Former Endicott football wide receivers coach Alex Valles (Danvers, Mass.) has been named a National Football League (NFL) Scout with the Arizona Cardinals.

"I am so happy and excited for Alex," said Endicott football head coach Paul McGonagle. "All of his hard work and perseverance has paid off and I can't wait to see what the future holds for Alex."

In 2019, Valles role as Endicott's wide receivers coach aided the Gulls to No. 1 overall rankings among the conference's eight teams in points per game (41.5), points (457), red zone offense (.860), and team passing efficiency (162.13), and a No. 2 overall ranking in total offense (4,561). Nationally, Endicott ranked No. 32 in third down conversion percentage (.459), No. 21 in red zone offense, No. 23 in team passing efficiency, and No. 53 in total offense.

During that season, Valles also coached Shea McManaway (Lisbon, Conn.) to Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) All-Conference Second Team accolades.

After leaving Endicott, Valles became a recruiting intern at Boston College prior to a pair of appointments at Wake Forest as the program's recruiting intern (January 2020-February 2021) and recruiting/player personal assistant (February 2021-May 2021)

Valles joined the Endicott staff after a standout four-year career at Georgetown University (2014-18). While at Georgetown, Valles played in 37 career games and compiled 1,043 all-purpose yards alongside five rushing touchdowns. During his senior campaign, Valles rushed for a team-high 462 yards and three touchdowns on 104 carries. He also earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades twice during his career and was selected to the program's leadership council to help communicate concerns and issues that may prevent the team from reaching its goals.

He also served as a member of the Georgetown Sports Analytics Business and Research Group which held meetings to educate students about career, internship, and education opportunities in sports as well as analytics. In addition to those responsibilities, the Georgetown Sports Analytics Business and Research Group collaborated with other programs at the university to help them engage in sports research using team stats, analytics, and sabermetrics.

Meanwhile, Valles' other coaching experiences include a four-year stint as an assistant coach with the organization called Coach Up in Boston, Massachusetts. While with Coach Up, Valles helped several players reach their full potential and aided them in the scouting process for the collegiate level. He also evaluated players, and their recruiting tapes, to help match them with suitable college football programs.

Valles, who was a standout student-athlete at nearby Danvers High School, received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in sociology from Georgetown in 2018 and earned his M.S. in Sports Administration from the Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College in 2020.
