Three Gulls Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team Honors

COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT® RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott football student-athletes Dylan Bonfilio (Burlington, Mass.), Will Genaway (Hinsdale, Mass.), and Riley Shanley (Simsbury, Conn.) have all received CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team honors, as announced by the organization.

The trio of Gulls will now appear on the national ballot for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team. First and second team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.

Additionally, Bonfilio, Genaway, and Shanley are now the eighth, ninth, and tenth student-athletes in program history, respectively, to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District® accolades. Bonfilio, Genaway, and Shanley's selections are also the most ever in a single year for any program at the College. 


DYLAN BONFILIO | SR. | QB

Bonfilio recently earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree with a 3.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA). 

Bonfilio's academic career accolades include 2020-21 Endicott Male Student-Athlete of the Year honors, three Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference awards, Magna Cum Laude status, and multiple Dean's List selections.

He has completed internships at Putnam Investments (investor services), American Mortgage Resource (business development coordinator), and Landmark Structures (accounting). 

While at Putnam Investments, Bonfilio assisted financial representatives and shareholders with financial processing and account maintenance, among many other tasks.

His internship experiences included launching email marketing and direct mail campaigns through Pulse Marketing CRM and Remine Marketing as well as assisting in payroll operations.

Bonfilio's involvement on campus as a student-athlete has also involved being a member of the EC L.E.A.D. program and a peer tutor.


WILL GENAWAY | SR. WR

Genaway recently obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree with a 3.68 cumulative GPA and is currently pursuing his M.B.A at Endicott.

Genaway is a three-time CCC Academic All-Conference award winner and a six-time Dean's List honoree.

His other extracurricular pursuits at Endicott have included being a member of the Internship & Career Advisory Board, EC L.E.A.D., and the Diabetes Network Chapter.

Meanwhile, his internship experiences are highlighted by his time spent with Ledvance (product marketing co-op), The Getchell Companies (marketing), and the Dan Duquette Sports Academy (general management).

Genaway helped the previously mentioned companies with developing product launches, creating marketing and social media plans, and analytics.

His work aided sales and product management teams, clients, and consumers.


RILEY SHANLEY | SR. | TE

Shanley recently earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing Communication/Advertising degree with a minor in business administration behind a 3.48 GPA. 

Shanley, who will continue his academic career at Endicott to pursue a Master of Science in Sport Leadership degree, is a three-time CCC Academic All-Conference award winner, a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, and a multiple Dean's List honoree.

Meanwhile, his internship experiences include working at the Vanguard Sports Group (marketing), CashmanKatz (digital marketing/social media), and Tyler English Fitness (video/social media).

At Vanguard, Shanley assisted college student-athletes in National Football League (NFL) preparation by creating graphics and formulating social media strategies. His social media marketing background was also put into practice heavily at CashmanKatz as Shanley planned, created, and posted social content, analyzed social metrics, and facilitated marketing campaigns based on the overall company strategy.

All of Shanley's internship experiences have culminated in earning himself a summer internship as a social media coordinator with The Players' Impact. The Players' Impact is an exclusive group of professional athlete investors and entrepreneurs.


CoSIDA Academic All-District® Program Requirements

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances.

All First Team Academic All-District® winners, which includes eight districts total, move to the national ballot and are then voted upon to the national team by members of CoSIDA's Academic All-America Committee. Endicott's district – District 1 – includes all schools from Massachusetts and Maine.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution, and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
