March 11, 2006
The Endicott Cheerleaders competed in their first national competition, the COA Open National Cheerleading Championship, at the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ on March 11th. Although the turnout for college competitors was not as great as Endicott had anticipated, the squad performed a top-notch routine and left the experience feeling proud and accomplished. This competition was another stepping stone for the cheerleading program -- and another important step for Endicott to gain more exposure in the cheerleading world.
The team performed as a co-ed squad for the very first time this basketball season with the addition of two freshman boys -- totaling a high of 21 participants! The squad also competed in the co-ed division, for the first time, on March 4th in the NECA Open Cheerleading Championship at East Haven HS in East Haven, CT where they fell short for first place to Westfield State College by only five points! The team finished in second place over Nyack College.
Congratulations team to another successful season and another wonderful year of cheerleading!
