Endicott Basketball Teams To Host Curry in CCC Playoffs

Feb. 18, 2006

BEVERLY, MA - The Commonwealth Coast Conference Playoffs begin in men's and women's basketball Tuesday night and both Endicott teams will host Curry College.

The official pairings will be released Sunday night, but both Endicott teams finished in second place of the CCC North Division and will face the third seed in the South Division, which is Curry in both men and women. The women will take the court at 6:00 PM Tuesday and the men will play the nightcap at 8:00 PM.

The two-time defending CCC Champion Endicott men's team finished the season 16-9 overall and 13-3 in the CCC while the Colonels' men enter the playoffs 13-12 overall and 10-6 in the South Division. The only meeting of the regular season saw the Gulls overcome a 19-point second half deficit only to have Curry pull out an 80-79 overtime victory.

The Endicott women have never won a CCC title although third-year head coach Jen Lucey guided the team to its deepest playoff run last season when the Gulls reached the semifinals. Endicott women will take a 16-9 overall record and a 13-3 conference into the postseason.

The Curry women are 8-17 overall and 7-11 in the CCC entering Tuesday's contest.
