Women’s Cross Country Places Fourth At CCC Championship

BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Endicott women's cross country team placed fourth overall at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday afternoon at Rotary Park.

Suffolk repeated as conference champs with a team score of 33 points.

Following the Rams were the University of New England (74), Roger Williams (79), Endicott (95), Gordon (109), Salve Regina (161), Wentworth (196), and Western New England (198).

Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) and Emma Johnson (Reading, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls with a pair of All-Conference performances for finishing in the top-15 out of the entire field.

Shepard finished sixth overall on the 6-kilometer course behind a time of 24:04.2, while Johnson ranked 15th overall in 25:03.2. Both times were personal bests.

Shepard also ranked first among all freshmen in the field to earn CCC Rookie of the Year honors. Joining her on the CCC Major Awards list was Julia Adrian (Noank, Conn.) who received Senior Scholar-Athlete accolades.

The rest of Endicott's top-5 included Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), Adrian, and Cate Herndon (Westwood, Mass.). The trio placed 16th (25:11.1), 20th (25:39.5), and 38th (27:21.1) overall, respectively.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will compete at NCAA Division III East Regionals on Saturday, November 12 at 11 AM (hosted by Bowdoin College - Brunswick, Maine).
