Women’s Cross Country Secures Top Spot In Endicott Invitational

HAMILTON, Mass.- The Endicott women's cross country team placed first overall out of four teams on Saturday morning in the Endicott Invitational, hosted at Bradley Palmer State Park.

The Gulls finished with a score of 29 points, and were followed by the University of Southern Maine (48 points), Emmanuel (65 points), and Emerson (98 points). 

Individually, Kaylee Dunn (North Attleboro, Mass) led the way for Endicott registering a time of 19:54 for second place overall on the 5-kilometer course.

Emma Farrington (Essex Junction, Vt.) was second on the team with her time of 20:06 (fourth overall), while Aleah MacKay (Bedford, N.H), Laura Pomeroy (Windham, N.H.), and Sophia Conde (Bedford, Mass.) rounded out the top-5 in sixth (20:47), eighth (21:12) and ninth (21:15), respectively.

"I was excited for the team to be able to race on a new home course. They did a great job representing out there and raced hard," said Endicott women's cross country coach Spencer Lange. "The group running has continued to be a trend and we are hoping they can continue to improve over the coming weeks. We are excited for the next few weeks of training before we head back to Gordon for the conference championship preview meet. I was impressed with how they fought for spots over the last few miles today as they trusted their fitness."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Endicott secured eight out of the top-15 spots.
  • Hannah Mason (Deerfield, N.H) finished 10th (21:16), Abby Keim (Williston, Vt.) placed 12th (21:39), and Emma Johnson (Reading, Mass.) was 14th (21:41) to conclude the top-15 spots in the race.
  • Today marked the debut of the Endicott Invitational race at Bradley Palmer State Park.

The team will travel to Wenham, Mass. on September 22 at 10:00 AM for the Pop Crowell Invitational.
