WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men's and women's cross country teams raced against stiff regional competition at the James Early Invitational and saw nine runners record personal bests after three weeks of training.  The Gulls will continue their season at the Western New England Invitational next Saturday before starting their championship schedule starting with the CCC's on November 2nd

In the women's race, the Blue and Green had a strong 12th place finish out of 38 teams with a team score of 383.  Endicott was the third CCC school to register five runners, placing behind UNE (fourth place) and Roger Williams (fifth place). 

Gulls junior Erin Haynes (Oakham, Mass.) came in just outside the top-10 in 11th place overall with a 5K time of 19:17.93.  Junior Lauren Boyle came in 74th overall at 20:55.33, senior Jillian Mendes (Waterbury Center, Vt.) placed third for Endicott in 100th place at 21:25.12, junior Jocelyn Kane (East Longmeadow, Mass.) crossed the line at 21:41.52, and sophomore Holly Rigoli (Waltham, Mass.) rounded out the top five scorers at 21:54.93.

The men's team finished 24th out of 35 teams with an overall team score of 711 and just behind league rivals Gordon and Western New England who came in at 20th (606) and 21st (628), respectively.  Host Westfield State won the team scoring followed by Siena, Williams, Babson, and Saint Rose. 

Freshman Noah Mondello (Gloucester, Mass.) crossed the finish line first for Endicott with a time of 27:16.60 in the 8K race.  He came in 32nd place overall.  Junior Alex Walecka (North Dartmouth, Mass.) came in at 29:24.97 and junior Mitchell Renfrew (Barkhamsted, Conn.) clocked in a time of 30:29.23 to round out the top three for Endicott.
