Cross Country Runs Well at Keene State Invitational

KEENE, N.H.-  The men's and women's cross country teams continued to improve on the season as they posted strong times at the Keene State Invitational.  The women were able to finish in 12th place in an extremely competitive field.  The men, a little short handed on the day, saw Noah Mondell (Gloucester, Mass.) continue to impress in his freshman campaign.

For the women, Jocelyn Kane (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished 53rd overall as she crossed in a time of 22:18.  Close behind her was Holly Rigoli (Waltham, Mass.) as the sophomore registered a time of 22:54.  Alyson Burgess (Lowell, Mass.) finished in a time of 25:39 to finish third on the team while Allison Loomis (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Stephanie Yepez (Ridgefield, Conn.) closed out the top five for the Gulls.  Loomis put up a respectable time of 28:09 as Yepez finished in 32:55.

For the men, Mondello finished 20th overall as he finished with a time of 28:02. 

The teams are now off until next Saturday when they make the trip to Westfield, Mass. to race in the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State.
