Women’s Basketball Outlasts Curry, 56-46

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team posted a 56-46 victory over Curry College on Friday evening at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Leading 43-40 with 6:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Gulls answered Curry's late surge with a 13-6 run down the stretch to secure the win.

Cassie Caldwell (Marshfield, Mass.) and Olivia Duncan (Essex Junction, Vt.) led the charge with four points apiece, while Shannon Gilbert (Easton, Conn.), Lexi Gellerman (West Hartford, Conn.), and Mariah Chamberlain (Jaffrey, N.H.) all made pivotal plays on both ends of the floor during the closing minutes for Endicott.

Overall, in the contest, Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) led all scorers with 13 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 3PT, 1-3 FT).

Gilbert also chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Duncan filled the stat sheet yet again via eight points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott has won three straight games dating back to March 12.
  • With tonight's victory, the Gulls extended their winning streak to 10 straight games (12/2/2017-3/19/2021) versus Curry and improved to 34-7 in the all-time series.
  • Endicott is 2-1 at home this season.

  • Defensively, Endicott held Curry to zero field goals for the final 2:58 of the matchup.
