Women’s Basketball Completes Weekend Sweep Of Nichols, 73-60

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Nichols College, 73-60, on Saturday afternoon at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Down by a slim 31-30 margin at the half, the Gulls found their rhythm in the second stanza outscoring the Bison 43-29 to even their record at 2-2 on the abbreviated season.

Morgan Bresnahan (Wilmington, Mass.) led the way for Endicott behind her first career double-double (14 points, 13 rebounds).

The Gulls also received a career-high 13 points from Taylor Bogdanski (Saugus, Mass.) and 10 more via Shannon Gilbert (Easton, Conn.) in the win.

Meanwhile, Olivia Valente (Saugus, Mass.) and Olivia Duncan (Essex Junction, Vt.) both turned in excellent all-around performances. Valente concluded the contest with nine points, seven assists, six rebounds, one block, and a steal, while Duncan registered six points, eight rebounds, six assists, and seven steals (tied 8th all-time in a single-game).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott shot a season-high 43.8% from the field in the victory.
  • In the second half, Bresnahan and Bogdanski combined for 16 points (8 each).
  • Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) also contributed four points, three assists, and a block in the final 20 minutes of play.
  • St. Thomas finished with nine points in the contest and currently leads the Gulls in points per game at an 11.5 clip on the year.
  • The Gulls led the matchup for 25:24.
  • Endicott's bench outscored Nichols, 25-13.
  • In the final 20 minutes of action, the Gulls saw nine student-athletes produce points during the half.
