Endicott Softball Picked Second In CCC Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — As the weather gets warmer and the calendar shifts to March, the Endicott softball team was picked second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason coaches' poll as announced today by the conference office.

Endicott received 88 points (three first place votes) heading into this season after posting a 22-16 overall record, which included a 14-4 showing in conference games in 2016.

Western New England was picked atop the poll as the Golden Bears earned 92 points and four first place votes. Salve Regina garnered third place with 83 points and two first place votes, while the University of New England completed the top four with 75 points and grabbed the remaining first place vote.

Roger Williams ranked No. 5 on the poll with 61 points and Eastern Nazarene checked in at No. 6 with 41 points. Nichols was positioned seventh overall (39 points), while Gordon (28 points) and Wentworth (11 points) rounded out the conference voting.

Endicott begins the 2017 campaign on Sunday, March 12 against North Park at 8:00 a.m. in the season opener over Spring Break in Clermont, Fla.
