Five Gulls Earn NEVC Postseason Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. — Five members of the Endicott men's volleyball team have received New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) postseason honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) headlined the group with NEVC All-Conference First Team accolades. 

The Gulls also paced the league with three selections to the NEVC All-Conference Second Team, as Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.), Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.), and Dean Warner (Kinderhook, N.Y.) all earned the honor.

Ryan Childress (Odessa, Fla.) rounded out the list of award winners on the NEVC All-Sportsmanship Team.


AIDAN IACOVELLI | SO. | OH

In 24 matches played, Iacovelli registered 2.95 kills per set, a .235 hitting percentage, 1.16 digs per set, 411 receptions, 244.0 points, and 3.3 points per set.

Iacovelli ranked eighth overall in kills (221), fifth in kills per set, 12th in hitting percentage, seventh in receptions, 14th in points, and ninth in points per set.

This is Iacovelli's first career postseason award.


GAVIN EMENAKER | SR. | S

Emenaker led the conference with 8.22 assists per set (633 total) in 24 matches on the season.

The senior setter also was third in conference-only matches at 8.30 assists per set (166).

His 633 total assists and 8.22 assists per set were both career-highs.

This is Emenaker's second career All-Conference Second Team selection.


JAKE LABORDE | SO. | OH

Laborde posted 2.88 kills per set (193 total), a .256 hitting percentage, 0.37 service aces (25 total), 295 receptions, 1.27 digs (85 total), 225.0 points, and 3.4 points per set in 24 matches.

His NEVC ranks included kills (16th), kills per set (7th/4th conference-only, 3.22), hitting percentage (10th), service aces (14th), service aces per set (11th), receptions (19th), digs (33rd), digs per set (31st), points (20th), points per set (7th/4th conference-only, 3.7).

This is Laborde's first career postseason honor.


DEAN WARNER | SR. | RS

In 23 matches played, Warner compiled 213 kills, 2.96 kills per set, a .217 hitting percentage, 18 service aces, 0.25 service aces per set, 43 blocks (3 solo, 40 assisted), 0.60 blocks per set, 254.0 points, and 3.5 points per set.

Warner ranked 11th in kills, fourth in kills per set, 15th in hitting percentage, 24th in service aces, 23rd in service aces per set, fourth in block assists, 10th in total blocks, 10th in points, and fifth in points per set.

He is now a two-time All-Conference Second Team representative.


YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 13-12 overall record and a 5-2 mark in league play. The Gulls advanced to the NEVC Semifinals before bowing out to Eastern Nazarene, 3-1.
