NECC Names Carter Roche Player of the Week for Third Time

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the third time this season, Endicott men's volleyball senior setter and captain Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week as he continues to lead the conference with a 10.06 assists per set average. Roche previous won the award on February 3rd and February 17th for an Endicott squad that currently owns an 8-3 (4-0 NECC) record.

In Endicott's lone match over the past week, a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-21) win over NECC rival Elms, Roche put up 30 assists for the third time this season in a three-set match and for the sixth time overall. His efforts set up a career-high 10 kills for sophomore outside hitter Dan Seaver (Milford, Mass.) and another eight kills from senior right side Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.) who both hit over .275 in the win.

Roche's 10.06 assists per set average is nearly 1.50 more than the second-best output from Southern Vermont's senior setter Anthony Ayala (8.78).

Just 11 matches into the season, Roche is nearing his career-high of 475 assists which he set during the 2013 season. He has 332 assists heading this week's match against Southern Vermont on Tuesday evening and this weekend's Endicott Invitational against Daniel Webster, Sage, and the nation's #4 ranked Rivier Raiders.
