Beverly, MA -- After taking an early 2-0 lead (31-29 and 30-23) in the match, the Gulls let Emmanuel creep back in dropping games three and four (26-30 and 23-30) and forcing a deciding 5th game. In the 5th game, the Gulls led 8-6 at the switch but Emmanuel went on a run and was up 14-12 before the Gulls rallied to close out the fifth 17-15.
Jeremy Fontaine was a consistent force for the Gulls at the net, picking up 24 kills and two aces in the win. Eddie Marchand picked up 12 kills and Brandon Ecker and Eric Hunter each chipped in nine. Russ Friedland handed out 43 assists and picked up 10 digs and Marchand picked up a team high 11 digs.
With the win, Endicott improves to 19-8 overall and 13-4 in NECVA New England play. Emmanuel drops to 8-15 and 6-11 in conference.
The Gulls will return to action on Saturday at 6:00 PM, when they will host NECVA New England rival Rivier College.
