Men’s Tennis Picked Second In CCC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team has been picked to finish second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Five-time defending champion Nichols College was selected first ahead of Endicott as the Bison received 78 points, highlighted by their six first place votes. The Gulls earned 64 points (one first place vote) for second place, which marks their highest placement in the CCC preseason poll dating back to 2008, while Roger Williams followed in third (61 points, one first place vote). Meanwhile, Eastern Nazarene came in fourth (59 points, one first place vote), and Gordon (53 points) rounded out the top-5.

The rest of the poll showcased Western New England in sixth (34), Wentworth in the seventh spot (25), Salve Regina (21) at the No. 8 position, and Curry (10) in ninth.

Last season, Endicott (12-8, 6-2 CCC in 2016) made its sixth straight appearance in the CCC semifinals, but behind the strong play of Matthew Doherty (Plymouth, Mass.)Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.)Sean McAndrews (Vineyard Haven, Mass.)Anthony Rinaldi (Attleboro Falls, Mass.)Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.) the Gulls will look to advance to the CCC Championship round this year.
