QUINCY, Mass. – The Endicott College men’s tennis team posted an impressive 9-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday afternoon in Quincy, Mass. With the win, the Gulls improve to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in the TCCC while Eastern Nazarene falls to 3-9 and 1-4 in conference.

The Gulls won all three doubles matches as ENC’s James Rich (Duxbury, Mass.) and Chris Ramey (North Augusta, S.C.) fell in a close No. 2 doubles match, 8-5, to \#Olivier Joggi\# (Stoneham, Mass.) and \#Mike D’Ambra\# (Barrington, R.I.). In No. 1 doubles, \#Dan Murray\# (Coventry, R.I.) and \#Devon Locke\# (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) won 8-1 while \#Porter Williams\# (Norwalk, Conn.) and senior \#Scott Kitchen\# (Norwell, Mass.) cleaned up at No. 3 doubles 8-1.

In singles, the two teams fought through close matches at \#2, 3 and 6 singles. Endicott junior \#Devon Locke\# cruised through a 6-2 first set win but freshman Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) regrouped and took Locke into a second set tie breaker. But Steelman could not gain an edge and lost the second set 7-6 (2).

In \#3 singles ENC sophomore James Rich (Duxbury, Mass.) started off on the right foot winning the first set 6-3 but allowed freshman \#Olivier Joggi\# back in the match with a 6-2 win. In the third and decisive set, the two battled to a tiebreaker where Joggi captured the win at 10-8. In \#6 singles, ENC freshman Ryan Robbins fought to a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Endicott’s \#Jake Cohen\# (Barrington, R.I.).

Endicott’s \#Dan Murray\# earned a win in \#1 singles 6-1, 6-3, \#Porter Williams\# grabbed a 6-2, 6-0 win at \#4 singles and \#Mike D’Ambra\# stroked out a 6-0, 6-0 \#5 singles win.

The Gulls return to action on Tuesday when the Blue and Green travel to Boston, Mass. for a TCCC matchup with Wentworth at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Nazarene is away at Regis College on Monday, April 12th.
