Men's Soccer Falls to Golden Bears, 1-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team was defeated by Western New England, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at Suprenant Field.

The Gulls were able to outshoot the Golden Bears by a total of 11-6 (8-2 on net), but the Golden Bears' 39th minute goal was the only scoring that ensued in the match.

Cole Fergusson (South Salem, N.Y.) led the Gulls' offensive attack with four shots and three on net. Fisher Mills (Ridgefield, Conn.) also contributed three shots with two on goal.

Kevin Pelletier (Topsfield, Mass.) allowed just the one goal in the match, also picking up a save along the way. His record drops to 4-3-0 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • After today's match, the all-time series record stands tied at 6-6-5.
  • Joe Akisik (Sudbury, Mass.), Keveen Delgado (Pittsfield, Mass.), Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland), Tim Lynch (Groton, Conn.), and Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) each played the full 90 minutes in the match for the Blue and Green.
  • This is the first loss for the Gulls since September 23 (Suffolk, 4-1).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-6-4, 3-3-1 CCC) returns home for Senior Day at Hempstead Stadium on Tuesday, October 24 at 4:00 PM. WNE (5-6-5, 5-1-2 CCC) travels to Hartford on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
