HOBOKEN, N.J. — The Endicott men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday morning to No. 3 nationally ranked Stevens Institute of Technology, 2-1, in a rescheduled non-conference matchup at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.
Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Gulls in the 73rd minute of action on a nice setup from Joe Cusack (Foxboro, Mass.).
Cusack dribbled through the midfield and left a through ball for Rooney at the top corner of the 18. Rooney then sent the shot into the lower left corner of the net, to cut into the deficit at 2-1.
The Gulls had two more scoring chances late in the 80th minute, but Stevens' goalkeeper stymied both opportunities.

- Today's match was the first meeting between the two programs.
- Rooney's goal was his first of the season and the second of his career.
- The match was rescheduled after Friday's (9/8) postponement due to lightning.
- Through the first three games of the 2023 season, Endicott's defense has only allowed seven total shots on goal.
