2023 Men's Soccer Season Preview; Endicott Ranked Second In CCC Preseason Poll

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team opens up its 2023 season at home against Concordia (Tex.) on Friday, September 1 at 7 PM. Here's a preview of the Gulls' upcoming season.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Gulls enter the 2023 season ranked second overall in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason poll
Senior midfielder Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) and senior forward Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) were named captains for the 2023 campaign. Mepham finished as CCC Offensive Player of the Year (All-CCC First Team) in 2022, compiling six goals with 13 assists, totaling a conference-best 25 points. Frazao was also named to the All-CCC First Team, as he scored six goals and tallied six assists for 18 points, placing him among the conference leaders as well.
Junior backs Joe Akisik (Sudbury, Mass.), Hayden Laske (Wethersfield, Conn.) and sophomore back Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland) headline a Gulls' defense that ranked third in the CCC in goals allowed average per game (1.24) and fourth in goals allowed (26). Akisik and Laske were each named to All-CCC teams, while Krysztoforski was an important piece of the Gulls' defense in his freshman season last year.
Sophomore midfielder Tim Lynch (Groton, Conn.) was named the 2022 CCC Rookie of the Year for his strong play throughout the season. Lynch played in all 21 games for the Gulls (19 starts), contributing in different ways each time out on the field. Debatably the biggest moment of his impressive freshman season was a game-winning assist against Keene State on September 20.
Endicott has qualified for postseason play in every season dating back to 2010 (1 CCC title, 1 NCAA Tournament, 3 CCC Finals, 1 ECAC Championship)
