SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released their weekly awards and one member of the men's soccer team has been recognized. Senior Alex Jorge (Billerica, Mass.) earned this week's CCC Defensive Player of the Week nod for his strong efforts between the pipes in the Gulls 1-0-1 week. Jorge has now been honored with Defensive Player of the Week accolades twice this season.

The men's soccer team is currently sitting at 8-6-3 (3-2-3 CCC) as they look forward to their last regular season game on Tuesday, October 28th as they travel to CCC opponent Eastern Nazarene for a 7:00 p.m. match.

Last week Endicott went 1-0-1 in conference play as they defeated Curry 6-1 last Wednesday on senior night and then tying Wentworth after 110 minutes of play with the help of Jorge on Saturday.

In the strong 6-1 conference victory over Curry on senior night, the goalkeeper posted an impressive 88% save percentage while picking up seven saves. In the tough battle with Wentworth, Jorge kept the Gulls in the game with his nine saves and just one goal allowed. The senior played a strong 110 minutes of play while making crucial saves in extra time to hold the tie.
