BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott junior defenseman \#Kevin Downes\# (Cheshire, Conn.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. Downes helped anchor the Gulls against strong competition in games Stevens Tech and Springfield.

Downes caused a team-best five turnovers and scooped up six ground balls in the Gulls’ opening three contests. The junior’s best game of the young season came in a 7-6 loss to Stevens Tech, when Downes caused four Duck turnovers and snatched three ground balls. Endicott’s defense is holding the opposition to just 5.33 goals per game.
