Teal's Medalist Honors Lead Gulls to First Place Finish at UNE Invitational

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine-  Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) continued his impressive fall season withr medalist honors at the UNE Invitational as the team won their first competition of the year.  The Invitational, held at the Cape Arundel Golf Club, featured six teams and 30 golfers in the field.  Endicott's team total of 305 was six shots ahead of second place Southern Maine's 311.

Teal, who has now finished as the low score for the Gulls in the last two Invitationals, won medalist honors after shooting a round of 72.  His round consisted of a front nine 35 and a 37 on the back.  His front nine 35 tied with Endicott teammate Jack Carroll (West Hartford, Conn.) who finished in a tie for third with a round of 76.

Senior Zach Golojuch used a opening nine 37 to finish with a back nine 41 to end with a 78.  His round of 78 tied him for 10th, just one stroke ahead of teammate Taylor Simpson.  Simpson opened with a 40 before closing with a 79 to finish tied for 11th.  Ian Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) closed out the scoring for the Gulls with an 83 as he tied for 12th.  

Endicott's first victory comes at the right time as the Gulls are now gearing up for a pivotal stretch in their season.  Endicott heads to the Gorham Country Club on October 6th and 7th to compete in the Southern Maine Invitational.  The Gulls then have five days off before they head to the Crumping Fox Golf Club for the ECAC DIII Championships.  The Gulls then get two weeks to prepare for the prestigious NEIGA Championships October 26th - 28th.
