Austin Teal Medals at WNE Invitational; Gulls Finish Second as Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - On the par-72 Veterans Golf Course, sophomore Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) bested the field with an overall scoring of 69 (-3) to earn medalist honors at the Western New England Invitational. Teal led an Endicott squad that finished second as a team with a score of 305, just three strokes behind the host Golden Bears (302). 

Endicott will compete in one final tournament before the CCC Championship to determine who earns an automatic bid ino the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Blue and Green travel to the two-day Johnson & Wales Invitational at the Cranston Country Club on April 18th-19th before returning to Springfield for the conference championship at the Franconia Golf Course. 

Senior Zach Golojuch (Saco, Maine) and sophomore Alex Viola (Brunswick, Maine) tied for second on the team's five-man team with a +6, 78 with senior Nick Erlichman (Shrewsbury, Mass.) came in fourth with an 80. Junior Jake Rand (Winthrop, Mass.) wrapped up Endicott's scoring with an 83.

Rounding out the top five at the Western New England Invitational were UMass Dartmouth (309), Salem State (310), and Westfield State (313). The other two institutions from the CCC to compete at today's tournament were Nichols (317) and Eastern Nazarene (NTS).
