Gulls Take Third at JWU Invitational

CRANSTON, RI - The Endicott College men's golf team displayed signs of what could be a very promising fall season on Friday, as the Gulls finished third out of eight teams at the Johnson & Wales Invitational Tournament.

Playing a the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, Rhode Island, the Endicott golf team put together an impressive outing. Led by Daniel Ryan, a University of Connecticut transfer, the Gulls finished with a team score of 309, just points behind No. 2 Johnson & Wales University (308), and the overall winner, UMass-Dartmouth (307).

Daniel Ryan paced the Gulls as he shot an impressive 73 on the first time ever seeing the course on aerated greens. Ryan finished just two strokes off the medallist, Nichols College's Chris Healy, who shot a one-over par, 71.

Endicott returns to the links on Tuesday, September 25th as they square-off with Tufts University in their rescheduled match from September 12th, 2007. The Gulls and the Jumbos will tee-off at The Colonial Golf Club in Lynnfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday.
