Nichols Slips Past Men’s Basketball, 104-96 (OT)

DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott men's basketball team lost to conference foe Nichols College, 104-96, in overtime on Wednesday night.

Tied 96-96 with 2:17 remaining in the extra session, the Bison orchestrated an 8-0 run down the stretch to come away with the victory.

Nichols needed some heroics to force overtime, however, as NCAA Division I transfer Jakigh Dottin (Cambridge, Mass.) buried a buzzer-beating second-chance corner three to keep the matchup going.

Prior to the game-tying three-pointer, Endicott's relentless and gritty effort allowed the Gulls to erase second half deficits of 68-60 (10:33), 76-66 (7:36), and 80-71 (5:37), respectively, prior to manufacturing a 91-88 lead with eight seconds to play.

Individually, Billy Arseneault (Lynnfield, Mass.) led all scorers with 30 points (12-20 FG, 4-6 3PT, 2-2 FT), alongside seven assists, and six rebounds.

Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) also contributed 24 points — including a team-best tying (Arseneault) seven points during the last 5:37 of regulation — six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Meanwhile, Cameron Ray (Lowell, Mass.) tied his career-high in points with 19 total and Mark Barrett (Brookline, Mass.) produced his first career double-double behind a career-high 15 points (5-11 FG, 5-9 3PT) and 10 boards.
