20 Field Hockey Student-Athletes Named To NFHCA National Academic Squad, 6 Scholars Of Distinction

2017 ZAG Field Hockey/ NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction Release

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team saw 20 student-athletes recognized as members of the 2017 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) office.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

Earning honors this season were seniors Courtney Brown (Byfield, Mass.), Brittany Bushey (Pittsford, Vt.), Emily Hirtle (Rowley, Mass.), Melanie Kaleta (Bellingham, Mass.), Olivia Larson (Cheshire, Conn.), and Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.); juniors Cameron Molinare (Simsbury, Conn.) and Maggie O'Reilly (Cheshire, Conn.); sophomores Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.), Emily Graham (Westford, Mass.), and Meg Sandblom (Scituate, Mass.); and freshmen Anna Battista (Kingston, Mass.), Zoe Clarkin (East Sandwich, Mass.), Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.), Olivia Kudas (Kennebunkport, Maine), Allie Lawlor (York, Maine), Emma Miller (Pawcatuck, Conn.), Lily Smith (Middlebury, Vt.), Victoria Timm (Scarborough, Maine), and Lauren Whitney (Poway, Calif.)

NFHCA DIII SCHOLAR OF DISTINCTION

Additionally, the Endicott field hockey team saw six student-athletes (Brown, Grabau, Graham, Miller, Molinare, Sandblom) named to the 2017 ZAG Field/ NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction list as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) office.

The Scholars of Distinction honor is awarded to those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

The Gulls (17-4, 11-1 CCC) earned a share of the regular season championship title and made it to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship game where they fell to the University of New England by a score of 2-1. Endicott also had 13 student-athletes named to the CCC Academic All-Conference Team this season and the team earned the ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Team Academic Award for the 11th year in a row.
