BIDDEFORD, Maine – The second-seeded Endicott field hockey team was defeated, 2-1, by the first-seeded University of New England during the Commonwealth Coast Championship (CCC) tournament championship game at the Big Blue Turf on Saturday afternoon.
The Gulls went up 1-0 at the 31:47 mark on a goal from senior Brittany Bushey (Pittsford, Vt.).
UNE's Brooke Lemerise (Bartlett, N.H.) tied the game up at 1-1 during the 41st minute of play, before tallying the eventual game-winner with just under seven minutes remaining in the contest.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) made six saves and shifted to 16-4 on the season.
- Maggie O'Reilly (Cheshire, Conn.) paced the offense with three shots.
FOR THE FOES
- Liz Sargent (South Burlington, Vt.) made five saves and improved to 17-4 on the season.
- The Nor'easters held the slight 14-13 shot advantage.
- UNE registered 15 corner opportunities to Endicott's nine.
- Olivia Madore (Lyman, Maine) and Kersey Boulay (Liberty, Maine) each notched an assist during the game.

Endicott (17-4) finishes the season with the loss. UNE (17-4) earns the CCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III field hockey tournament.
