2017 CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
ENDICOTT FIELD HOCKEY ALL-CONFERENCE HISTORY
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team saw nine members earn Commonwealth Coast Conference season honors, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The Gulls saw three major awards as Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.) was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) earned Rookie of the Year, and Jodi Cipolla was honored as Coach of the Year.
Wood and Farrin were also named to the All-CCC First Team and were joined by Sophia Cogliano (Saugus, Mass.) and Samantha Crowley (Leicester, Mass.). Earning All-CCC Second Team honors were Madi Wood (Bristol, Vt.), Emily Hirtle (Rowley, Mass), Olivia Larson (Cheshire, Conn.), and Cameron Molinare (Simsbury, Conn.).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR/ ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Emylee Wood | Sr. | D | Kensington, N.H.
Wood has been the anchor of the Endicott defense this season, while also adding firepower on the offense. She has a total of six goals and one assist for 13 points in conference play. She has also been a major reason that the Gull's defense has recorded four shutouts overall (two in conference), and is second in the conference in goals-against average (1.01) and goals allowed (13). Wood also made the All-CCC First Team in both 2015 and 2016.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR/ ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Taylor Farrin | Fr. | GK |Danvers, Mass.
Farrin has had an impressive year in net for the Gulls as she has an overall record of 15-3 and three shutouts. She leads the conference in overall save percentage (.811) and is second in both GAA (1.27) and goals against (25). In conference play alone, she is ranked second in goals against (13), GAA (1.04), and save percentage (.822).
COACH OF THE YEAR
Jodi Cipolla | Head Coach | 11th Season
Cipolla was named CCC Coach of the Year after leading her team to an overall record of 16-3 and an 11-1 record in league play. She has now led the team to a CCC tournament appearance in all 11 of her seasons as head coach and is looking to capture the program's third conference title.
ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Sophia Cogliano | Jr. | F | Saugus, Mass.
Cogliano has been a force on the Endicott offense, leading the team overall in goals (23) and points (49). In conference play, she has recorded 14 goals, which is good for second in the league. She has also notched a league-leading five game-winning goals during conference play this season. This is Cogliano's second straight season being named to the All-CCC First Team. She was also named to the All-CCC Second Team in 2015, as well as 2015 CCC Rookie of the Year.
Samantha Crowley | Sr. | M | Leicester, Mass.
Crowley has seen action in all 19 games played so far this season. In conference play, she has registered three goals and two assists for eight points. Crowley makes plays happen on both ends of the field, as she is second in the CCC in defensive saves (3). This is her second straight All-CCC First Team honor.
ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM
Madi Wood | Sr. | F | Bristol, Vt.
Wood has recorded a total of five goals and eight assists for 18 points on the season in 19 games played. She also leads the CCC in assists during conference games with seven.
Emily Hirtle | Sr. | M | Rowley, Mass.
Hirtle adds depth to the offense and defense for the Gulls. She has seven goals, eight assists, and 19 points overall, and four goals, three assists, and 11 points in just conference play.
Olivia Larson | Sr. | M | Cheshire, Conn.
Larson's three assists on the season have all come in conference play, while she added two goals against non-conference opponents. She also added one defensive save on the year. Larson has now been named to the All-CCC Second team for the second season in a row.
Cameron Molinare | Jr. | D | Simsbury, Conn.
Molinare has played a major role on the Endicott defense this season. She contributed to four shutouts throughout the season while also adding one assist during conference play. Molinare was a key reason in the Gull's only allowing 13 goals against and recording a GAA of 1.01 through 12 league games.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott clinched a share of the regular season title as they went 11-1 in conference play. They share the title with the University of New England, who won the tie-breaker in order to take the No. 1 seed in the CCC tournament. The Gulls earned the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 Salve Regina in the semifinal round on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.
