MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Salve Regina senior QB Jeff St. Onge (Kingston, N.H.) completed 20-of-26 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 87 yards and another score to lead the Salve Regina University football team to a 43-20 win over Endicott College in New England Football Conference (NEFC) action Saturday afternoon at Gaudet Field.

St. Onge established a new single-game record with his .769 completion percentage and tied his own school record for passing touchdowns in one game (four), which he set in the season-opener last year. He threw touchdown passes of 75 and 68 yards to sophomore WR Michael Dargan (Meriden, Conn.), an eight-yard pass to junior Nick Piscitelli (North Haven, Conn.), a two-yard strike to freshman Trey Scales (Boston, Mass.), and rushed for a two-yard score. Dargan finished the afternoon with a school-record 224 receiving yards, and freshman kicker Brendan Deasy (Quincy, Mass.) tied a school-record with three field goals and points by a kicker with 13.

The win lifts the Seahawks back to the .500 mark at 2-2 (1-0 TCCC) and marks their second-straight win over the Gulls (2-2, 0-1 TCCC), who won the first five meetings between the two schools.

The Seahawks marched down the field on the opening possession of the game and capped an eight-play, 39-yard drive with a 27 yard field goal by Deasy at 11:11. On their next possession, St. Onge hooked up with Dargan for a 75-yard touchdown pass at 6:22 that pushed the Salve Regina lead to 10-0. Early in the second, Scales made a leaping catch on a pass from St. Onge in the left corner of the endzone to stretch the lead to 17-0 at 11:40. Salve Regina closed the half with a 26-yard field goal by Deasy at the buzzer to take a 20-0 lead to the locker room. Salve Regina outgained the Gulls 250-128 in the first half and recorded 14 first downs, compared to just seven for Endicott.

The Gulls removed sophomore starting QB \#Phil Konopka\# (Shelton, Conn.) to start the second half and replaced him with junior \#Matt DeOliveia\# (Malden, Mass.). The move paid immediate dividends. DeOliveira moved the Gulls 66 yards in nine plays on the opening possession of the half and capped the drive with a 30-yard touchdown pass to sophomore \#Taylor Allen\# (Westboro, Mass.) at 10:42 to make it 20-7.

On the ensuing kickoff, sophomore Matt Petersen (Bristol, Conn.) gave the Seahawks great field position with a 55-yard kick return which put the ball at the Endicott 25. St. Onge capped the five-play drive with a two-yard touchdown run with 8:10 remaining in the third and give SRU a 26-7 lead (PAT blocked). Endicott came right back and made it 26-13 when senior \#Colby Hawkins\# (Scituate, Mass.) scampered in from six yards out at 6:23 of the third. Piscitelli closed the scoring in the third quarter with an eight-yard touchdown reception that moved the SRU lead to 33-13 with 2:09 on the clock.

In the fourth, Dargan scored on a 68-yard strike from St. Onge at 10:16 to push the lead to 40-13. Senior \#Aaron Santos\# (Cambridge, Mass.) tallied the final points of the afternoon for Endicott on a two-yard pass from Konopka – who returned to the game in the third quarter – with 5:33 remaining in regulation. Deasy closed the game with a 17-yard field goal for Salve Regina at 1:51.

Konopka finished the afternoon 17-of-28 for 182 yards and a touchdown while DeOliveira was 4-of-6 for 46 yards and a score. Hawkins led the Gulls with 63 rushing yards and one touchdown, and senior \#Tyler Felix\# (Foxboro, Mass.) hauled in a team-high four receptions for 22 yards. Defensively, sophomore \#Bill Hickey\# (Walpole, Mass.) was credited with eight tackles to lead Endicott.

As a team, the Seahawks piled up 442 total yards, including 106 kick return yards on three kicks (35.3 ypr). Senior Nolan McGarrity (Verona, N.J.) led the defense with 13 tackles (nine solo), one QB hurry and one pass breakup. Sophomore Shane Lange (Branford, Conn.) recorded 10 tackles – including a sack for a loss of nine yards – and four QB hurries.
