The Commonwealth Coast Conference announced the 4th round of nominations for weekly honors for the week ending September 28th.
Helping the women's tennis team remain undefeated is freshman Sofia Pagano of Key Biscayne, FL. Pagano earned Co-Rookie of the Week Honors for her performance in the past week. She won 6-1, 6-0 against Gordon, 6-0, 6-0 against Salem State and 8-0 in doubles. Pagano has only dropped five games en route to compiling a 4-0 record in singles this season. The women's tennis team is tied for first place in the CCC with a record of 4-0, and 6-0 overall.
Earning Rookie of the Week Honor Roll recognition for women's volleyball is freshman Sara Moore of Guilford, CT. In four matches, Moore had 28 kills and 11 blocks for the Gulls. In the previous nominations given by the CCC, Moore was awarded Rookie of the Week honors for her outstanding play during the week ending September 21st.
Freshman Josh Golden (Narragansett, RI) of the men's soccer team merited an Honor Roll nomination for his performance during a 2-0 win against Saint Joseph's. Scoring his first collegiate goal, Golden helped the Gulls improve to a 5-3 overall record. They are 3-2 in the conference.
Junior field hockey player, Kim Doody earned Honor Roll recognition for her play in the past two games. Doody scored two goals in the last three minutes of Endicott's game against WNEC. In overtime, the Laconia, NH native scored the game-winner against UNE, helping the field hockey team improve their overall record to 6-4. Currently, the Endicott women's field hockey team is first in the CCC with a record of 3-1.
Also first in the CCC is the women's soccer team with a record of 5-0. The Gulls are 7-1-1 overall, and have outscored their opponents 27-10 with junior forward Leah Walters leading the way with 8 goals, and not following too far behind is freshman Caitlin D'Amario with 6 goals.
In other Endicott sports news, the women's and men's cross-country team competed at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon this weekend. The women's and men's team finished in 7th and 8th place respectively out of 16 teams.
In the New England Football Conference (NEFC), EC's first year varsity football team improved their record to 2-1 with a 14-10 win over Western New England College. With two minutes remaining in the game, Andy Roy fired to Dan Marshall for a 90-yard touchdown pass to give EC a thrilling victory.
