Three Endicott players were named to CCC All-Conference Teams. Patty Mikan earned a spot on the Second-Team while both Killeen Ross and Sara Moore were named to the Third-Team All CCC.
Patty Mikan played in 108 games this season and led the team in Kills (254) and per game (2.35), Aces (73) and per game (.68), Points (342.5) and per game (3.17) and was third on the team in Digs (382).
Killeen Ross played in 108 games and set new school records for both Digs in a season (476) and per game (4.41). She also led the team serve receive with 749 attempts and was second on the team in Kills (210) and third Aces (39).
Sara Moore, after overcoming an early season injury, played in 95 games. She set new school records in three blocking categories: Asst. Blocks (80), Total Blocks (100) and Blocks per game (1.05) and led the Gulls with a .245 Hitting %. In addition she was second on the team in both Points per game (2.85) and Kills per game (2.06).
While these three players received the post-season honors the rest of the team made some significant contributions as well.
The Gulls had two third-year seniors who played in the majority of matches. Krystan Sylva did a terrific job running the offense from her setter's position while Marisol Garcia saw the majority of time at the opposite position.
Junior Captain, Kristen Altieri played well returning to the setter role and Katie Lorinovich anchored the defense and serve receive from the libero spot. Morgan Tranquist moved from the middle to the right side and Susan Teta helped control the middle of the net.
Sophomore, Carrie Fenton came off the bench to provide some key serving and defense throughout the season while both Meghan Stevens and Katelyn Smith had a good first year with the team.
While the team continued to show improvement and raise the level they are playing at, no one is content with losing in the CCC semifinals and they are already looking forward to the 2004 season. Next fall will feature Coach Byram's first class of seniors coming through the program and the Gulls will again be competing with some of the top D3 New England programs to help them prepare for playoff push. With the addition of their first trip (Chicago, IL) set for early September, the Gulls will be using this combination of senior leadership and a strong schedule to prepare them for their team goal of winning the programs first CCC Championship!
We would once again like to thank all of the parents and friends who followed us this year and Congratulate the entire team for their successful season!
Go Gulls!!
