BOSTON, Mass. - Junior midfielder Caitlin Flynn (Southold, N.Y.) and freshman forward Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) each scored twice as the Endicott women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to six (5-0-1) with a 5-0 win over Wentworth in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played at Sweeney Field.
After the Leopards could not get a shot off after the opening kick-off, the Gulls wasted little time drawing first blood when Flynn scored on a breakaway at 1:42. The score would remain 1-0 for the remainder of the half, while Endicott held a 12-5 shot advantage after the first 45:00.
The Gulls would score on their first touch of the second half when Pepin netted her sixth tally of the year at 45:23 when her shot from just inside the 18-yard box would defect off of the keeper's hands and into the net. Flynn scored her second of the game at 68:53 with a shot from inside the 18.
Endicott increased its lead to 4-0 with Pepin's second of game at 77:31 before sophomore forward Brianna Russo (Danvers, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with a goal at 84:53.
Senior Amy Meuse (Saugus, Mass.) made three saves in 68:53, while junior Nicole Lawlor (Mansfield, Mass.) played the final 21:07, making three saves. Wentworth freshman Katherine Matthews (Northborough, Mass.) made six saves for the Leopards. The Gulls held a 24-11 shot advantage.
Endicott improves to 6-2-1 overall and 5-0 in TCCC play. The Gulls are at Western New England Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Wentworth sees its two-game win streak come to an end and drops to 3-6-0 (2-2). The Leopards are also in action on Wednesday, hosting Eastern Nazarene at 4:00 p.m.
