Gulls Remain Perfect in NECC with 3-0 Victory Over Lesley

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott held onto their perfect record in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with a 3-0 (25-3, 25-6, 25-12) win over visiting Lesley University on Wednesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

The Gulls improve to 17-8 overall and 9-0 in NECC, while Lesley (0-15, 0-10 NECC) continues to look for its first victory of the year.

Freshman Alex Wasik (Milford, Mass.) led the Gulls with seven kills and no errors, while also picking up one solo block and assisting on two others. He helped an Endicott squad that hit .521 as a team, making only five attacking errors all game on 48 total attempts.

The Gulls got off to a fast start, rattling off nine and eight point runs in the first game, led by two service aces each from Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) and Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.). Endicott would end up with 17 service aces in the game, including three from Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.), who also had two kills.

Coniglione had four kills for the Gulls, while Anderson put down three balls, including the first of the game, which was the 1,000th of the season for Endicott. Freshman outside hitter Chandler Tayek (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) contributed with three kills and led the team with eight digs.

First year Dan Seaver (Milford, Mass.) killed three balls and added a service ace in one set of action and sophomore Kristian Catalan (Sudbury, Mass.) dug out four balls in a winning effort.

Junior setter Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) dished out 16 assists through the first two sets while Aaron Jesse (Okinawa, Japan) handed out five assists in the third set.

The Lynx were paced by freshman Spencer Irwin (Somers, N.Y.), who had five kills in the game. Junior setter Melvin Morales (Chelsea, Mass.) led the visitors with four digs while handing out five assists.

The Gulls will continue NECC action on Saturday afternoon with a huge contest against Daniel Webster. The Eagles sit in second in the conference, and will come to Beverly for a 1:00 pm match.

Lesley will play at the Springfield Invitational this weekend, starting with a game against Southern Vermont on Friday at 3:00 pm.
