Endicott takes conclusion of rain-shortened match

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College men's tennis match against North Shore rival Salem State College on March 26th was suspended due to rain with the Gulls leading 2-1 after doubles play. On Thursday, the two sides continued their match and Endicott held on to take a 6-3 decision over the Vikings to improve its record to 8-4 overall.

Josh Schoen (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Dan Murray (Coventry, R.I.), who lost to Adrien Malosse (Triel Sur Seine, France) and Rob Random (Newbury, Mass.) in top doubles play, 8-5, got their revenge as Schoen beat Malosse in No. 1 singles, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6, and Murray downed Random in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. Alex Eisath (Renon, Italy) got the best of Devon Locke (St. Croix, Virgin Islands), 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, and Mike D'Ambra (Barrington, R.I.) dropped a close match with Josh Giller (Peabody, Mass.), 6-4, 1-6, 0-6. It was in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots that the Gulls came to shine, as Scott Teller (Granville, N.Y.) and Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, Mass.) buckled down to close out the match with wins in the final singles slots for the Blue and Green.

Endicott gets back to work on Saturday when the Gulls travel to Bristol, R.I. for a TCCC match up with Roger Williams University. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
