Men’s Lacrosse Doubles Up Keene State, 14-7

KEENE, N.H. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated Keene State, 14-7, in the season opener for both programs on Friday night at the Owl Athletic Complex.

Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.) and Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) notched hat tricks and dished out one assist apiece to highlight the Gulls in the victory.

Colt Green (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) also registered a pair of tallies, while Manny Marshall (Chelmsford, Mass.), Ethan Cupples (Marshfield, Mass.), Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.), Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y), Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.) and Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) all potted one goal each to round out the scoring. 

In goal, Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) stopped 17 shots to improve to 24-8 in his career.

Endicott's second quarter was the difference as the visitors buried five straight tallies over a 3:15 span (6:36-9:51) to build up an eventual 6-4 lead at the break.

From there, the Blue and Green either matched Keene State or scored in bunches in the second half (8-3 differential, two strings of three-straight goals) to secure the road win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott holds the all-time edge in the series, 6-1 (five straight victories).
  • The Gulls were picked to finish second overall in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason poll. 
  • Favreau registered his first career hat trick. 
  • The hosts outshot the visitors, 54-40. 
  • Marshall scored his first collegiate goal.
  • Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) went 16-for-24 at the faceoff X (.667).

Endicott (1-0) visits Nazareth on Saturday, February 24 at 1:00 PM. Keene State (0-1) takes on Western New England on Tuesday, February 20 at 4:00 PM.
