Men’s Golf Earns Runner-Up Honors At NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. — The Endicott men's golf team finished second overall out of 20 teams at the two-day New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship over the weekend.

Husson took home first place honors behind a score of 603 (+27, 298-305).

Endicott followed (608, +32, 308, 300), while Hartford (609, +33, 313, 296), Bates (+612, +36, 306, 306), and Roger Williams (613, +37, 309, 304) rounded out the rest of the top-5.

Individually, the Gulls placed three of their five golfers inside the top-10.

Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine) finished in a tie for fifth place (150, +6, 73-77), while Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) and Connor LaCross (Upton, Mass.) ranked seventh (151, +7, 78-73) and eighth (tied, 152, +8, 74-78), respectively.

Frank Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.) and Will Pierce (Melrose, Mass.) rounded out Endicott's efforts with identical scores (156, +12, 80-76) to finish in a tie for 29th place.

BEYOND THE SCORECARD

  • LaCross was -2 on par 5 holes.
  • Burke ranked second among the entire field with 26 pars.
  • Baker finished even on par 3 holes and compiled six birdies (tied 4th overall).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 2. Tee times for both dates at the Highfields Golf Course in Grafton, Mass. will begin at 10 AM.
