Second Half Surge Helps Men’s Basketball Defeat Curry, 72-62

MILTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's basketball team defeated Curry, 72-62, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday evening.

Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) led the Gulls with a game-high 22 points and six dimes.

Dillon Grant (Dennis, Mass.) also added 18 points (7-11 FG, 5-6 FT) and six rebounds, while Mark Barrett (Brookline, Mass.) notched a double-double via 10 points and 10 boards.

In the opening stanza, Endicott produced a 12-5 scoring run late in the half to take a 29-23 lead with 3:08 to play. Fueling the run for the Gulls were Jeff Hill (Lynn, Mass.) (7), Grant (4), and Barrett (2).

Curry answered Endicott's run down the stretch, however, as the Colonels made it a one-possession contest, 31-29, at the break.

From there, Endicott eventually pulled away towards the end of the second half via a 15-2 stretch, which gave the guests their largest advantage of the game, 68-52, with 4:41 remaining.

The Gulls seized all momentum in the matchup courtesy of a Drew Brown (Pelham, N.H.) layup, a pair of Grant free throws, two layups by Stephen Fama (Lynnfield, Mass), two points from Hill, and five more points in succession from Grant to cap the offensive outburst.
