Men’s Basketball Outlasts Gordon, 84-81

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team fended off Gordon College, 84-81, in conference action on Tuesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) tied his career-high for points with 32 total on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor (3-8 3PT, 7-9 FT) to spark the Gulls.

Jeff Hill (Lynn, Mass.) added 16 points, while Drew Brown (Pelham, N.H.) rounded out the list of double-digit scorers with 10.

Stephen Fama (Lynnfield, Mass.) also contributed eight points, eight boards, four steals, and one assist in the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Despite the one-possession final score, Endicott held the lead for 39:04 in the contest – which included a double-digit advantage of 20:28 throughout the matchup.
  • The Gulls took an 11-point lead at 4:39 of the first (38-27) and maintained that gap up until the 4:11 mark of the second (78-69).
  • From there, Gordon brought the game under five points on three separate occasions down the stretch (80-76, :57 | 81-78, :27 | 83-81, :10), but the Gulls answered each rally at the free throw line to remain undefeated in conference play (4-0).
  • The Fighting Scots only led for 19-seconds in tonight's matchup (largest lead was two points).
  • Endicott outscored Gordon on the fast break 17-6.
  • The Gulls lead the all-time series 30-22 (winners of four straight).

Endicott (8-3, 4-0 CCC) visits Western New England on Thursday, January 5 at 7:30 PM. Gordon (6-5, 2-2 CCC) welcomes Wentworth to its campus this Thursday at 7:30 PM.
