UNE Tops Men's Basketball, 98-93; Brown & McDevitt Reach Career Milestones

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team fell to the University of New England (UNE), 98-93, on Wednesday night at the Harold Alfond Forum. 

Despite the loss, Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) and Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) both achieved significant milestones in the contest. 

Brown became Endicott men's basketball's all-time leading scorer tonight as part of a game-high 42 point effort passing Kamahl Walker '17 (Worcester, Mass.). The senior guard now sits at 1,905 points, a feat he has accomplished in just 97 games. 

McDevitt became the 17th student-athlete in program history to surpass the 1,000 career points mark as part of a 19 point display. McDevitt now has 1,008 career points. 

As for the game, with the Gulls up 82-59, the Nor'easters went on a 39-13 run over the final 11 minutes of the game to come away with the 98-93 victory. Avery DeBrito led UNE on the run with 12 points. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Brown and McDevitt each assisted each other on the baskets which gave them their career milestones. 
  • McDevitt had a double-double in the contest as he brought down a game-high 13 rebounds.  
  • Despite the setback, the Gulls still lead the all-time series over the Nor'easters, 26-11. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (15-6, 9-3 CCC) will host Roger Williams on Saturday, February 5 at 3 PM. UNE (12-9, 6-6 CCC) will host Curry on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:30 PM.
